Let Wilsonville Voters Decide on Utility Fee Increases

The City of Wilsonville is considering significant increases to sewer and stormwater utility fees that would impact every household and business in our community. These proposed increases represent long-term financial commitments and would raise the cost of living and doing business in Wilsonville.

While we understand the need to maintain critical infrastructure, decisions of this magnitude should include direct input from the people who will be most affected. We believe voters deserve the opportunity to review and decide whether these proposed increases beyond the CPI are appropriate and affordable .

After an influx of public comment opposing the increase, the city decided to hold off on a vote on the increase until February.

This petition calls on the Wilsonville City Council to refer the proposed sewer and stormwater utility fee increases to the voters for approval through a ballot measure, ensuring transparency, accountability, and community trust.
